Our board layout should be established in KiCAD (Joe's choice as the benevolent dictator of the project).

The basic board layout should account for:

  • overall dimensions (length x width)
  • component mounting options
    • microcontroller slot
    • voltage regulator
    • power connector slot
    • rotary encoder attachment
    • LED matrix connection
    • (optional) piezo element
  • silkscreen labels
  • trace-routing
